Don't wanna do it, but apps that are needed to manage my trip are not available on WP8. And others only on Android, though not necessarily essential, are convenient to have. And some are just better than anything comparable on WP.

I wish this wasn't the case, but it is what it is. Anyone else faced w/this while traveling?

What apps do you need? Nokia Maps works great, you can download international maps and you can find where you need to do.

Okay, Nokia/HERE Maps isn't a be-all and end-all solution for mapping.

For example, one only has to look at Japan (which has even less detail than the Philippines, and that's saying something.)

What apps do you need? .

Southwest
Airbnb
booking.com
OneSimCard Direct
Banking/credit card apps
StreetView on Google Maps (helpful to "familiarize" myself w/an area prior to going there, especially when looking for a specific place)

Also, many points of interest/attractions/venues often have useful apps. You can guess which platform(s) those are most likely to be on (and not).
