8.1 other storage

Hi,
I am still using wp8, waiting for 8.1 to come..

The other storage has increased to 1gb now.. Changing date doesn't help.

I read 8.1 presents other storage in a different manner.
You can also connect to a pc and remove the unnecessary content.

Has anyone tried this ??
What content have you noticed?
Can we clear the entire folder.. Or some files are not supposed to be manually removed.

You don't have access in WP8.1 to an 'Other storage' folder on the computer. Not sure where you got that idea from.

We now have a 'Downloads' folder where things go if they are not 'known' files from downloads on IE. I'm uncertain if anything else goes there.

Other storage is simply files that the OS does not recognise. If you are using apps that download content unknown to the OS it's considered 'Other storage'.

You can try using the storage check and delete the temporary files. That may clear things up. The other thing is to check what apps you're using and what files they have.

In WP8.1 you just have a better idea what your files are. That's it.
