Help! Stuck on cogs during WP8.1 GDR1 update.

I recently tried to install WP8.1 GDR1 update, and it downloaded the files perfectly, only took 5-10 minutes. It then asked if I wanted to install, and I pressed install. It restarted, and went on to the cogs. I left it on all night, in charge. I had 2.5GB of internal storage left on my phone, also. When I woke up 8-9 hours later, nothing had happened. The loading slider hadn't even moved, it was still all grey. I left it all day, and now it has been stuck at 0% on the cogs for around 24 hours. If I bring my phone into a shop, will they mend it? Is there anyway I can mend it without a hard reset? Should I try a soft reset? Thank you.:smile:

Hi, thanks for the reply, I did a soft reset on my Lumia 520 just 40 minutes ago, (power button+volume down) and it restarted but just continued with the update. It is still at 0%. I don't mind going back to WP8.0/8.1 if it means my phone is fixed. Thanks.

Are you plugged to the wall charger by chance?
Also was your phone internal storage high before attempting to install.

If I remember correctly internal storage needs around 2-3GB of overhead to update.
