I got myself a red 920 last October. I was thinking of upgrading to 830 when the rumors said it's gonna have 20MP camera but now I've doubts about (having just 10MP camera). What are the advantages 830 have over 920 and vice-versa? (Keep in mind I'm just a student and can't afford 930 or 1520).

I would suggest staying with the 920, primarily because it offers better features despite being older.

The 830 theoretically might have a better camera, but we need to see official tests before we can say anything for sure.

Other than that if you are a gamer, the Adreno 225 GPU on the 920 should still be faster than the Adreno 305 found on the 830.

I would recommend staying with the 920.

I too was hoping the 830 would be a good upgrade, but its just way too expensive for the internals it has. Plus with only having a Snapdragon 400, it wont get the Hey Cortana command.

That's the one thing that keeps me from upgrading too. I don't understand why 920 won't get the Hey Cortana command when Moto X with same SOC was the one to bring the OK Google command.

I'm a gamer but 920 has the unique problem of getting too hot to hold when playing HD games with the battery drain of ~50% hour.

Lumia 920 uses the snapdragon s4, while the moto x uses the snapdragon s4 pro AND a custom listening core that gives the moto x always on listening.

They're very much different chipsets
