I have a Windows 8.1 operating system on my laptop and I have OneDrive on it.

Do I just copy or move the files and pictures over to it? I don't have to establish some kind of username and password? If my computer crashes, how do I access my files? Do I go on Microsoft.com and use my username and password on another computer?

Yes, you can look at your files from any device. You can either go to OneDrive.com or by installing the OneDrive app on other devices such as your tablet or phone. For all you sign in with your Microsoft account password. So, if you haven't already, open a Microsoft account. A Windows phone will automatically upload your pics to OneDrive. And I think the app has been updated on other operating systems to do the same.
