Why can't I connect my Lumia 1020 to my PC?

why can't i connect my lumia 1020 to my PC?

when i try to connect my device(lumia 1020) to my PC using the USB cable which i got with the phone, it's just charging the phone and i cant see anything like mass storage option or charging only option.
And in my PC... it is showing a camera icon instead of a storage drive icon.
I don't know what to do. I'm going completely mad.

Did the drivers install? Does it come up with the Lumia in "My Computer"? Tried a different cable?
