Windows Central Question

Yesterday, the 29th, my computer (which got the notification saying it was compatible so I reserved my upgrade a few weeks back) had downloaded about 5.65 GB of files onto it. I got the notification in Windows Update yesterday that there were failed updates, and when I looked, all of the failed ones were Windows 10 Home. Today, all of the files seemed to be deleted and the folder is down to about 2 GB. I still have the notification to get Windows 10. Any help?

Have you tried forcing the update through Command Prompt? Type "wuauclt.exe /updatenow" and press enter. That should re-initialize the downloading of update files in case certain files needed to be replaced or deleted prior to the upgrade. This method will also carry you through the actual upgrade process directly to Windows 10.
