I have tried to update from 8.1 to 10 and it won't work. I go to Control Panel, select updates and then get the option to start updating to Windows 10. I click Start Download and it downloads. It even restarts and says applying updates do not turn off system. Then it starts up and goes through normal startup. When I open the desktop, the control panel pops up and gives me the otion to Start Download for Windows 10 again. I've done it 9 times already and nothing. Please help.

Look in the installed updates log for an error code.
Odds are your system has a driver or antivirus that is incompatible.
