How do I export pictures from my Windows RT tablet to my desktop?

My desktop is a Dell with Windows 7. I don't know if that matters. Also I've never figured out how to make my Skydrive work on tablet.

Well the simplest way other than making SkyDrive/OneDrive work is using a flash drive or other storage device.

Put the pictures on a microSD and then eject it from the tablet and insert it in a card reader attached to the PC.

On the tablet log into your SkyDrive (now called OneDrive) in a browser and upload pics there. Then log in on your PC via browser and download.

What issues are you having with SkyDrive on the tablet? What Tablet? Have you made sure it is updated? Does your PC have Bluetooth? Have you tried sharing files across WiFi on a home network?
