I have been using Windows 10 for a couple days now. I was a little confused by the temporary account that I was thrown into right after the upgrade, but everything was settled and nothing seemed to be missing, so I was content.
Now today, however, I checked my downloads folder and noticed it was completely empty, along with my documents, music, pictures and music folders. Some of the folders created by other programs were still in the documents folder, but any loose documents were missing. I checked a shadow copy from a couple days ago and it is the same. I also checked back in my windows.old folder, and it is also lacking. My desktop files, however are still there and fully intact.
Any insight into what happened and if I may be able to recover my files?
