Cannot shut down during "We couldn't complete updates"

Windows 10 laptop, cannot shut down since it is stuck on the "we couldn't complete updates, undoing changes screen."

I've had this computer for about a year, and since I don't use it very much, 90% of the time it is always busy installing updates. So I've barely been able to use it at all, and now it's stuck on this screen and I can't get it to do anything. It appears to shut down, but then when turning it back on it immediately reverts back to this screen.

Since I don't have a degree in advanced starship technology, I have no idea how to work this thing.

How long has it been reverting? Depending on what was on your PC before you updated, it could take quite a while to revert back to its previous state. My HP Elitepad has done exactly that a couple of times now, before finally finishing. My advice would be to just give it time. It'll fix itself.....hopefully.
