Windows Central Question

I have just bought a new PC which contains windows 10, which was an upgrade from windows 8.1.

If at any stage I need to do a clean install of windows 10 will I need a product key? There doesn't seem to be a product key on my windows 8.1 CD ROM pack.

I have downloaded and saved to disc a windows 10 iso.

Many thanks

I'm a bit lost. Did the PC come new with 10? Or did it come with 8.1 and you upgraded to 10 yourself?

In either case your license is in the cloud and attached to the Microsoft Account you are using on the computer.

If your device came with 8.1 the key is likely stored on the motherboard and that's why you aren't finding it on the CD pack.
