Colors seem bad on windows 10

I bought a 27 inch monitor and ever since I bought it, word seems very pixelated on it and movies and browser have bad image quality on this monitor but not on the other one. I've tried everything I've found online.

What brand of monitor?
What computer are you using with?
What graphics card do you have?
What are your display resolution settings?
Your cable setup?
There could be either one or more of these things that might be impacting the performance.

-Asus VC279H and a random Medion monitor (that works perfectly)
-Custom build computer
-Nvidia GTX 660
-27 inch is 1920x1080 and the other one is 1600x900
-27 inch: HDMI, other one DVI

Most likely it is a cable / resolution setup combo, the computer is automatically downgrading the output, at least that would be my guess. Sometimes a low grade cable and low resolution works, at other times the other extreme (better cable, high resolution setup) works. Good luck. If I can find a particular solution, I will pass it on to you.

I've tried using a DVI instead of HDMI and I've got the same results

Or could it be a defect monitor?

are you mirroring the display or using the second as the only screen? And you're sure that the monitor is full hd?

I'm using it to extend my moni tor, the monitor is 1920x1080p.
