Why won't stuff i download stay installed?

[Windows Central Question]

When i download something like the desktop icon for wsop.com it will download and install, and run fine. Then when i boot up my asus smart tab a second time, there is no record of the download and i have to go through the whole download and install process all over again.

Are you still running on Windows 8?

I know it sounds silly however have you checked the all apps list?

As well as scrolling to the right on the start screen?

this happens for programs too or just the icons that you're trying to install?
