I have the latest updates to Windows 10 16299.248, I am not sure why I can't get Windows defender to auto-scan. Every day I get a ! exclamation, all of my other machines have the same build and run it just fine.

    1. Ensured the services were running and set to automatic.
    2. Ran sfc /scannow - no issues
    3. Exported and imported a known good scheduled task from another machine.
    4. Created a new scheduled task pointing to the exe with Admin privileges.

None of the above have worked. I generally have to go in to the Windows Defender Security Center and run it manually.

No other Antivirus has ever been on this computer. . . Thoughts?

I'm having the same problem. It started two fast updates ago and has gotten worse. All my scan options are grayed out. Reported to MS but feedback as yet.
