How to enable Autoplay for USB sticks ?

When I set the option to 'Open folder to view files (File Explorer)' for Removable drive in Control Panel's AutoPlay; and I then click Save at the bottom of the page, next time I open that page, the option has reverted to 'Choose a default' and is greyed out, so I can not change it till I click on Reset All Defaults. Options for other categories are saved, but NOT for Removable Drive. In Win10 on another PC, the option sticks and the USB displays it wares upon insertion into a socket.
