    Hello everyone,

I'm new to the Windows Phone Central forums. Please excuse me if this is not the right forum to ask the question.

I want to know what are the engines or softwares used to build games for Windows Phone 8.

For example, IStunt2 or Royal Revolt!. How are the characters built, what engines are used?

I've Googled for this and came across Unity 3D but it seems there is a steep learning curve associated with this. I also know that XNA is not being supported anymore so that may not be a path to choose.

What I'm looking for some basic directions so I can learn further.

    Thanks in advance.

GameMaker Studio probably has a slightly better learning curve than Unity.

Welcome to YoYo Games | YoYo Games

They have a free version, but you'll need to pay $199 to release anything on WP. Also, there was a great series of videos for this on Channel 9 (Microsoft's developer network) that you should check out, if you go this route.
