I have been using my lumia 720 for about a month now and it runs wp 8.1. I really like the phone its so much better than my previous phone and i dont think ill ever go back to android but my problems so far has been that there is no option to choose a default app . I know that this can be done for the camera but it would be nice if it could be added for the browser and other apps . This should be added as in wp8.1 a proper file manager is available .
I also wish webpages would redirect directly to an app eg: the youtube website redirecting to mytube or metrotube and also 'real' folders i know theres app folder but its not as good as the real thing ...... i mean seriously windows has had this since the begining

The only thing I miss from Android is the G+ app, other than that... I am very happy with WP 8.1

Not sure what you mean. Just pin a tile for your preferred browser or other app to your Start screen and remove the tile for the built-in browser or app.

Check out "Aerize Explorer" for Windows Phone. You don't need to wait for Microsoft. http://www.windowsphone.com/s?appid=f18c01a2-716a-4b7e-8a26-43bbc18da986

I think he's refering to what happens whenever you click a link in an email, app or somewhere else. In this case it'll always be IE that's launched and not your preferred installed browser.

Re: What i miss after switching from android

This depends if you are a normal user or a power user. A power user will miss a lot of things, like availability of third party API's, FTP, etc
But above all, you may miss things Like Leap motion, MYO, etc which are eccentric to technology for augmenting mobility in devices. Although the key players are realizing the importance of Windows Phone and have started to provide the API's, but in a way it is not immediately available.
Mobility is also becoming central to healthcare, and a lot of big companies like GE healthcare, Siemens, etc are trying to add value to their services by using mobility and developing custom modules for Mobiles, but again for now Windows Phone is kept out of picture, these modules will be more effectively drive market and consumer behavior.

A normal user won't miss much, as he will just follow "80% time 20% apps" rule. And on contrary to the popular belief there are plenty of good apps for Windows Phone.
