Recovering old backups?

I've come into a legal situation and I need your expert help! I need to recover old text messages from my phone. I used to have a lumia 920 but switched to a 830 in March of this year. I need to recover texts from 2013 till now. I know MS has a backup of the phone somewhere, but how can I find it? I know that I can get ATT to recover them but I need a lawyer to do it and I'm not sure I need one if I can get those texts back. Please tell me I can recover them! I've since sold the 920 so I don't have it anymore.

Go to text messages apps. Tap three dots and setting. Turn on SMS backup. And set download message to any time. Your phone should be able to download a text message that already automatically backed up

Ok I tried that, restarting the phone now. Will it include messages that were deleted?
