I will not be forced into Android or iOS by any company app or corporation!

With the announcement of Mint dropping their app for Windows Phone something has really irked me.

In each of these app announcements, the developers always seem to rub in our face "but we'll keep on with our iOS and Android app!"

Well, I won't be forced by ANYONE into something I don't want just to use their product. It's that simple.

I will ride Windows Phone until the gates of hell because that is what I CHOOSE and no one else is going to force me to go elsewhere for their APP!!! Truth be told, I don't "need" any app at all. I have a computer that is light enough to carry everywhere with me that can access anything under the sun.

Peace out Mint! That also goes for the rest of these chumps who are "focusing on their iOS and Android apps". When you come back, I won't use you.

And I honestly don't care to hear any boiler plate responses about market share and whatever. I've heard it all and don't need to hear it again! This is an emotional rant!

Funny this is the same thing that WM users are telling bb10 users to convince them to switch.

Looks like we are in the same boats and we would be able to compete better together if we both don't want Android.

You are literally the only person bringing up BB10, We get it. You like the platform. Stop shouting it from the rooftops on a Windows forum.

Now back on topic... I've had faith in the WP platform since WP7... but my faith is wavering. Articles like the ones posted yesterday make it very hard to keep up the positive attitude.

WP STOP PLAYING WITH MY HEART!

Actually the initial screens of the WP10 are starting to look a lot better than in earlier versions.

It could get a wider acceptance from more people. Before I used to prefer bb10 active frames above wp7/wp8 tiles. With added background on wp8.1, it started to look nicer. This is when I thought bb10 would be better with WP10 tiles as the main screen and multitasking active frames on a screen next to it. Or blending the two.

Now wp10 on its own can still appeal to Android users if proprietary stores become less relevant.

When apple carne they brought a store and it changed everything. Now everyone played catch up.

Microsoft should try to change things rather than try catch up. Making proprietary stores irrelevant, they can get people to try WP again.

The other option is they move their engineers to write apps for Windows to cover the gaps and make sure theirs are better than in android/ios

It's better than spending time convincing others to come back.

LOL, at least you admit it's an emotional rant devoid of any logic or substance.

There is nothing in WM10 to appeal to new consumers or to cause existing iOS/Android users to switch. In fact it's missing huge chunks of features, it's pretty sad state of affairs.

You are right. It is your own choice, how effectively you choose to use your smartphone. If you are okay with that you don't have all available apps and can't use your smartphone so effectively as it could be, no one is forcing you to change. Main thing is that you yourself are ok with your own choice (as you really don't seem to be). Don't blame MS or companies. After all you have freedom to choose.

There are APPS that are pushing me to android: Outlook, Office, Skype, OneDrive. I got a XiaoMi note with all the Microsoft Apps preloaded, and it's the best Wind....I mean, Microsoft phone I ever had.

I don't get the earlier comment, I am happy with my choice. Bb10 is fairly feature compete as a smartphone. I didn't think that WP would be much behind? Why do you say it's missing large chunks of features? The only thing missing in bb10 is cortana and better office suite and maps.

Bb10 already have Amazon store and snap for play store apps, but more native apps would be better

Bb10 has integration for major cloud services. (One drive, Dropbox, box,.. ) but dune services could be added.

Overall pretty complete but just missing few bits.

Could one believe that that mint is too lazy to work on one app for a different platform then the other two? I am no app developer so I do not understand if the process of developing or improving the app is different than iOS or android.
