phone dead

hi,
I have a HTC surround. I was talking on the phone, and battery was little low, but still would have lasted 30 more minutes or so. as soon as the call ended, the phone has gone dead.
i plugged it into the charger, but has not turned on, even after charging for 90 minutes.
is it that its got so discharged that i need to charge more?
actually, when i plugged into the socket, it even did not make a customary sound that you hear on plugging in.
can i hard reset the phone?

please help?
i bought the phone in november last year. can it be replaced under warranty?

Youjust need to do a batery pull on the unit, this has happened a couple of times with mine. Just pull the battery, wait 30 to 60 seconds, put it back together and you should be good to go.

shouldn't i get it replaced as it is in warranty period i guess.
moreover, what is the guarantee that it won't happen again?
is it a hardware problem ? if it is and happens again as you said,
and the solution you told does not work, I might not be able to change it later
after the warranty period.

If you call Cust. Service they will tell you to do the same thing stead04 said, and if your phone boots up they won't fix anything. If your phone STILL won't work, it would be covered under the warranty.
