    The SD card problem is to do with WP8.1 preview. The only way to get the phone to detect the SD card is to plug in the charger, open cover, remove battery and slide SD card out of its slot a tiny bit, then push in. If you have the Storage sense app open you will see the SD card suddenly show up...

    Easy way to WP8.1 dev preview

    The way to get the phone to see the SD card is to plug in the charger, then remove the battery (keeping the charger plugged in) slide the SD card out a tiny bit, then push back in and now the phone will see the SD card! It's only a work around until the official 8.1.
