I've been having similar issues with my Surface Go and my desktop with Mouse brand camera. Sometimes when I restart the computer it will work when logging in for the first time. Its kind of rare. Are you also experiencing this? I wish I had something more helpful because I'm in the same boat.

People have different phones with different set-ups. My HTC One M8, for example, gets really hot randomly even when its just sitting there.

I'd certainly like this device. I bought an HTC One M8 a little over a year ago, so its hard justify the cost. The camera quality alone has made me consider buying one anyways, though...

Re: HTC M8 - Windows 10 Bugs/Solutions (updated Jan 5, 2016) Yes! I have a similar bug (just now got .63, haven't played with that build). Similarly, I can have the icon indicate that the ringer is on but volume is set to 0.

I'd really be happy with either. While the XL is kinda big, it is the slightly superior phone. They'd both be a step-up from the aging HTC One M8. Its not a phone optimized for W10M, that's for sure.

The notification LED does flash when battery is critically low. I can't even remember if it did this before, but it does now. The HTC Camera app is wonky. Recording video over 30 fps (which this phone can do on 8.1) is not smooth or just crashes the app (both Windows Camera and HTC) on WM10.

T-Mobile hhas done this before. I also had the Lumia 810. Given that it was never moved beyond Amber, I'm concerned for the M8..
