the 1520 size, is huge but i think i can live with it. i didnt realize it had gorilla glass 2 instead of the 3 found in 1020. moreover, the 1020 screen repair costs just as much as new phone and isnt really easy to replace. on second thought...march isn't so far away, if this is true...

that is my dilemma, I was considering the 1520 because of its 20MP sensor and faster image capture time, but the sheer size of it might make it unusable on a daily basis. the 830 just doesn't seem appealing to me :| and att isn't selling the 930 - gah

So I dropped my lumia 1020 and cracked most of the screen, still functions but will probably start looking into a new replacement soon. any recommendations to which lumia device I should upgrade to? I cant seem to decide if I want a 1520 the 930 or wait it out for a yet to be announced phone :|

I dont have glance background on, but i have set mine to peek mode. standby time is different for the phone...in airplane mode mine would easily last over a week. you need to see what apps are taking up battery both current and in background mode. also, maybe a hard reset will solve your issues?

easily between 16 - 22 hours on medium usage, not even restricting background apps or email syncs, the latest 8.1 update w/bug fixes seems to have done wonders!

idk if its just me, but your dad's phone seems to have flash on...or at least focus light effects on when compared to yours

April 22nd, will be the 8.1 preview update for xbox music. the team has confirmed this, and subsequent updates every 2 weeks following that. they are looking into addressing a lot of issues...so patience :)

Yeah, i get the same ... fully charged on a lumia 1020 and if i leave it be it can go 7 hours without dropping from 100%...but the moment i start interacting with it, it can drop up to 10 - 15%/hour from basic messaging, IE, mail check and maybe a little reddit.

Would it be too much to request this for bing weather, news, finance and sports apps?

surely you are joking.... these transparent tiles provide access to those apps which govern media, music, sensor, web components...it opens those apps, and those apps need these services.
