Dual SIM with just one SIM?

Hi all,

my uncle wants to buy the Nokia Lumia 530 for Christmas but he has the choice between the Single SIM and Dual SIM models for exactly the same price. He was thinking, that he would take the Dual SIM version (why not - in case he needs it sometime in the future), but he doesn't know, if the phone will work normally with just one SIM card inserted (if it is not going to show any alerts or anything and if the phone will be fine with this configuration.
Do you have any experience with this?

I have a relative that owns the L630 dual SIM and the phone works fine with just one SIM. So, i think that would be the same on the dual SIM L530.

I also use the same only one sim for moto g.
From Windows phone

Sim1 with 3G sim2 only 2G. Works perfectly regardless 1 or 2 Sims inserted.
