Both batteries seem to discharge equally

I just got my Surface Book 2 yesterday and I'm loving it!

One oddity, in my opinion, is that the batteries seem to discharge at the same rate. At first thought, this may seem reasonable. However, my thinking is that the battery in the base should be used first, saving the tablet battery just in case I want to use it as a tablet.

Anyone know anything about this and maybe even a way to tell Windows how to use the batteries?

I agree, the same could be said for recharging. The tablet should get recharged first, then the base.

This is the way some of the early convertible laptops did it.

I would have thought it was something MS could easily do with a firmware update, however, there may be technical reasons for not doing that.
