Ive downloaded a movie today, and weirdly enough windows RT can't play mp4? This isn't believable, or am I missing something? Would like to hear from you guys.

mp4 is just the "outside" extension. Videos have separate video and audio codec. I think that video uses a video codec not supported by 8/RT. My recommendation: stick to H264, it works with (almost) any device.

yeah I think so, the video is blueray rip, we don't have to go into the specifics of where I got it from, but anyway, its seems its not an h264 format, is there any converters?

and for gods sake VLC just pop up in the windows store :p

on Windows 8, try MediaInfo (it's a desktop app). Free converters do exist (try Freemake) but I don't there's any that can run on RT.
