Can't disable touchpad

Been having a bit of an annoying issue with my pro lately. The touchpad cannot be disabled, at least by normal means. I am using the lit keyboard, intended for the surface 2.

(Normal means would be going to PC Settings and turning touchpad off from there. I can flip the switch back and forth but there is no change to the touchpad.)

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Any driver updates or anything else that can help?

(This is on Windows 8. I have not installed the 10 beta on this computer.)

It does not show in the mouse settings. Or if it does, it's showing as a mouse.

I'm wondering if this is related to a device I had to disable in Device Manager to keep the keyboard keys from sticking. I would hate to have to choose between insanity and insanity. :(

Why do you need to disable it? I think by default it ignores stuff when typing.

Device manager probably works. Yea.
