Hi everyone, I don't know if this has been done before but after trying everything I could to internalize the original 1020 qi coil into the housing I decided to try internalizing the 920 coil into the 1020 even going as far as putting in the whole qi assembly with resistors to try and lower the voltage from the 920 coil assembly to 5.1v from 6.95v but it still didn't work :/ For some reason the signal always broke after about 20-30 seconds no matter what I did, I assume the metal inside the housing had something to do with it so I decided to do the next best thing.I desoldered the qi coil from the pcb and aligned the tips with the holes on the 1020 and bent them down to make contact and finally I put my Nillkin case over it. I can safely say that it works like a charm and I can finally enjoy wireless charging on my 1020 again without having to buy a way too overpriced qi shell or have an unsightly bump or gaps in the case from using the original qi coil since the 920 is already centered and thinner without the plastic and pins from the original so all the sides are completely flush. I attached some photos so you guys can see :) Thanks for reading, tell me what you guys think!

Thanks. That's exactly what I am looking for for my 2. We never use ours without cases. I dropped mine once while waiting for a new case and cracked my screen. So it lives full time in the spec case. My wifes is in her flip case to keep the phone private at work.

So this just pops out of the 920 case and onto the 1020?

Wow that's some rotten luck :/, goes to show how important cases are though. As for the coil, it can come off the 920 case but I would definitely recommend buying the coil assembly from ebay where they're like 5-6 dollars. All you need to do is cut the white tape behind the coil with an x-acto blade then just desolder the coil off and you're good to go!

Yeah they sell the assembly by itself which makes everything a lot easier and cheaper lol and sorry but I can't post links right now because apparently I need 10 posts to post links but it should be the first listing to pop up when you type in "nokia 920 coil" on ebay. It's $5.99 and the seller's name is eastwest_star. There's more listings for them but this is the exact one I bought.
