So, I'm close to jumping on the 1520, but I wonder if I should just wait for MWC (maybe even BUILD) to see what's coming out? My only concerns are of course the size, which I've made peace on compromising with. Also, no wireless charging. I don't care which standard at this point, just being built in is what I care about. Is it possible the next Lumina on ATT will have PMA built in? Do I wait for something from ATT that's 5 inches and will include wireless charging with the internal specs of the 1520?

    Thoughts or opinions?

Daniel has come out and said there will be no new Windows Phone handsets at MWC so I would go ahead and cop a 1520. Trust me, you will enjoy it lots.

Take the leap. It doesn't sound like anything will be released until after BUILD, and more likely until after 8.1 is released to the general public. This will likely be months after the BUILD conference. And even then, no guarantees that the hardware will be exactly what you want anyway.

I heard Daniel said this, but would like to see where he said it or at least an explanation on why? I know its not guaranteed the specs will be exactly what I want, but there has to be a 5 inch with wireless coming for ATT by June right? They can't have the only newer spec'ed windows phone be the 1520 with a screen size that still only fits a few as for practicality (which was really released in 2013)? That's 7-8 mths.

Will Nokia be releasing Lumia 929 a.k.a Icon on Verizon? Hate to bring this up, but there are way to many rumours about the Nokia X with de-googled Android. I hope that isn't true, it doesn't help that it tallies with their Nokia Conversation Blog logo (X). I am likewise, but if I had to chose between 1520 and 929. I will definitely wait for it to come out. My safe bet is wait till what is released at MWC... something is being released though... 929 fingers crossed!

Good luck with the phone! You'll enjoy it, I know I do! I WAS skeptical about the size at first, but love it now! Only drawback is the difficulty of one handed operation. It won't fit in tight pants, but I don't wear tight pants so its great.

What??? Seems everyone on this forum are uninformed.
First off, Nokia cant release just one phone on MWC.
I am in your same boat. Moving from Anndroid to windowsphone. And 1520 being my bet for now as I have grown to be a freak of big sized phones.
But I would wait for MWC to see what is in stock. I mean, its only next weak, what the rush.

But i think its more important you think of it in the long term.
In today's fast growing technological world,1520 would be considered an "outdated" phone in no time. Its already 4 months old.
And there have been rumors already of a new Lumia 1820 (5.2") and 1525 (6" phablet with solar charging and 3GB ram).
I also want a wireless charging and i dont know if the rumored Phablet will have that, but if it really has inbuilt solar charging, I dont care much for wireless charge!

Nokia cant simply release just LOW-END android phones. That's a really stupid assumption.

Battery last 2 days for me with heavy use. Currently just finishing two days since last charge and I still have half a battery left. Optimize your settings and you will see keeping your phone charged won't be an issue.

Yeah we're gonna see. And it isn't just tomorrow, its 24th -27th.
We're gonna comeback to this thread after the event and you would see Nokia cant simply release only one low-end device.
Even if Nokia wanted to endorse android, you think they can compete in today's market with one low end device?

Just imagine the shame on Nokia's part when Samsung displays a 32GB, 3-4GB, 4k display smartphone and all Nokia is a 512mb Android phone.
If that's all they got for this year, even with the wp8.1 coming out, Nokia has lost in the 2014 mobile market.

Samsung needs to have all that power, Androids need all that power, WP doesn't need that much power, be nice having it, but only thing it would really do is enable "bragging rights" And most WP folks could care less if Nokia releases a low-end android phone. I could care less if Nokia realeased an android phone with 32GB ram, 128GB storage and with the i58 Quintuplet core CPU. I still don't like androids. That is why am here in the WINDOWS FORUM and not in the Android forum. I have owned BB, iOS, Android, WM, WP7 and WP8. I have always like the Windows OS. (I liked mobile better than WP, but I guess it's all a matter of taste) You want to wait, then do so. Because if you buy the next biggest thing, it will be outdated in only a couple months. That is the industries business, to out-date the phone before contracts are up, so you pay full price. Look how well that worked for Apple, a new iPhone every year, and people signing a 2 year contract to get it. So those who signed a 2 year contract with iPhone5, will now pay ETF or full price for iPhone6. I am happy with my 1520, I also was in my "Need for Speed" mode, was buying the Newest Android every 3 or 4 months. Only thing that accomplished is my CC getting to it's max. Now since the 1520 and I didn't pay a penny for it, and no contract. (Thanks AT&T) I am one happy camper. I don't see anything out there that makes me want to switch. Remember, your girlfriend, wife or significant other lied to you!! SIZE DOES MATTER!!! Funny how I thought the Note2 was too big, but the bigger 1520 seems to fit in my lifestyle just right. (Except for a few shirt pockets that are not big enough, but with a seamstress as a wife, that won't be a problem for long. ;)

No, ATT version. Can't go without lte. :-)

So far it has been fine fitting into my lifestyle and clothes. Lol. Had a bachelor party Friday night and got plenty of jokes about the size. Everyone came to same conclusion though... it doesn't feel as big as it actually is. And you can't deny, EVERYTHING looks better on that screen. I wore about the slimmest pair of pants I own and it actually fit fine even when sitting. So it pretty much passed the weekend test except trying to pull it out in a club WITH a drink in hand! Haha!

My only gripe was the night pics I took. The first one was terrible and switching to night mode helped at least make it bearable. Nothing as good as my 920 took at night and that was on auto setting. My buddy noticed that as I was taking the group pic and before I got a second chance, someone showed it up with their iPhone.... sad moment. Although I know for sure the camera is way more cable than it showed.

Well you don't seem to get the point. Isn't about what you or I like. Its about surviving. Nokia sold out to Microsoft because they were dying. The fact you and I like windows phone didn't do them much good. Its about standard. Nokia cant just survive on one low end android device is the point I was making.
By any standards (even Nokia's) one gigabytes of RAM is outdated. Well might not seem like much of a problem now, but when you are unable to get some updates or run some apps, it becomes a big problem.

And nothing is wrong with Lumia 1520, I consider it the best phone in the market (yeah, f*ck the Note 3; I have a strong grudge against Samsung and now Android). If Lumia 1520 was a girl, I probably would have disvirgined her already.
But then again, the MWC is hours away. If I can get a better one, why not wait few hours? If MWC doesnt show anything better, I can still get the Lumia 1520. There ain't no rush in life.

Congrats! I have the AT&T version as well, only thing that truly pisses me off is ATT raping Qi out of it.
Before anyone responds with the "they have pma cases," I don't like any of the cases including the incipio one and refuse to be strong armed into a product by a service provider. Other than lack of Qi, love everything about the phone. Sounds like you just need to learn the new pro cam app, although the 920 took amazing low light pics as compared to the 1520. From the high end specs, to the huge 1080 screen, to expandable storage, its the epitome of a WP 8 device IMO. Only drawback I would warn about is to make sure you like the OS and size before getting one. Unfortunately WP isn't for everyone, but if more ppl gave it a chance, they would be decently surprised. I love the size though, just be careful about putting stress on it in your pocket when sitting or taking a knee.

I'm waiting on the next lumia 930. Hopefully AT&T doesn't rape the next model like they did with the 1520. Altering Technology & Torture. There's also the 8.1 update you can wait for to refresh your current lumia devices.

I think one of the problem is unlike Android with aloy of manufacturers putting out new phones were like apple in a way waiting to see what the next Nokia will look like Samsung doesn't seem to care was hoping for a Galaxy s5 Wph to upset and challenge Nokia nothing new from HTC so its a wait n see thing. Love my Lumia 1520 always by my side and every where I go hoping for a green or cyan.

Yep, I've already been pissed twice once I realized how convenient having my phone sitting on the wireless charger is. Waking up and grabbing it to check something real quick didn't require me to unplug it in the dark. Also, when I come home or go to sleep, I just dropped it on. No questions or bending down mixing up which plug I'm grabbing (my tablet is plugged on the same side also).
