App Search Tiles

Hi, recently bought a Lumia 620 (my first WP), in the apps drawer, there is the search key which was shown from the time i got it but recently there are tiles with letters appearing in the app drawer, i know its okay but i did nothing so is their an option to turn it on or off?

There isn't any option to turn it off or on. I believe that if you install 40+ apps it will automatically appear. I also heard that once you make it appear it won't go away even if you remove some apps? That last one I'm not sure.

It will go away once you start removing. At least that's how it worked for me

Hmm. I've removed the letters before on a WP7 device, but I haven't tried to remove it on my WP8. I'm sure I've heard lots complain they couldn't on WP8 on this forum though...

There is no way to manually remove the letters from the application list. They automatically appear once you reach 40 apps. If you go back under 40 the letters will disappear again.
