Why does original OneDrive doc keep my changes to a new doc?

Why does original onedrive doc keep my changes to a new doc? I NEED ORIGINAL TO STAY THE SAME!

I open up a document with questions I need to fill out for work. It is the one i use over and over and need it fresh with no answers. I save the document into onedrive and onto a folder on my desktop. Then when I go back to my original document, it has been changed and has my most recent answers saved to the original as well. How do I stop this????????

Did you use "save" or "save as .." .
I would suggest to open the original and first do a "save as .." Probably you enabled "AutoSave" so the original is saved during the time you work on it resulting in your "problem".

I am! It is weird because it is just one document that keeps doing it. The other is fine. Did I change something? Are there settings for one individual document?

Could the other one be a "read only"?
