I wanted to do a clean install on Windows 10. I backed up all my important files and then moved them back to were I had them before when the reinstall was finished. This included some files that I had in my Onedrive folder. When Onedrive went to sync back up with the cloud, I got an error message saying that both locations had folder with the same name and that I must rename the folders, or remove them and let the files be redownloaded from the cloud. I thought this was silly that I had to redownload everything since I already had it on the computer but thought it would be the easiest route to go. I moved the folders from Onedrive folder on the computer and went to resync up the folders that I wanted to be in both locations.

When I went to do this, the folders that I wanted were no longer on the Cloud Onedrive. This was basically all of my pictures which I had backed up in other locations but we still pretty alarming. I was able to go to the recycle bin on the web interface and find the deleted pictures and restore them. This was for 55 GBs of pictures and is taking a long time to restore. I didn't lose anything but it is a pain in the *** to restore this much on Onedrive and wanted to give anyone else a heads up on what happened.

I just noticed another issue. When I went to recycle bin, I just restored all. At different points in time, I had folders with the same name and it is trying to restore both. It obviously can't do that and at this point I'm not sure if it is restoring the newest one, or one of the older ones. The non restored folder is still in the recycle bin at least. When it have finished, I can go though the duplicate folders, see which one was restored, and them make changes if needed I think.
