Nokia, Microsoft and Surface Windows Phone

Microsoft and Nokia announced their partnetship in February 2011. While the full details of the agreement is not disclosed we do know that MS are paying millions of dollars to Nokia for exclusivity. Does any one know what the contractual length of this partnership is? Given that it would be 2 years by March 2013, could it be that the current agreement ends next year, thus Nokia and Microsoft are free to develop their own phones? Nokia for instance could release an Android Lumia while MS get to make a Surface Phone? Is this the plan B?
