How do I know messages backup is working?

A thought just hit me. I have messages backup turned on, but, seeing that I cannot actually see them, in SkyDrive or Outlook (I've tried most of the different ways posted here for seeing them in Outlook) how do I know they are, actually, backing up, short of restoring my phone?

I haven't heard of any other way. Though I wouldn't go through the trouble, you could always grab a 520/521 and see if all your messages get correctly put on it. Then, keep the phone as a backup or return it.

yes, when i had an extra 620 or a short while, i logged using the same hotmail account.
all messages appeared in the 620, texts+conversations etc

Do MMS pictures also show back up?

Since they're in your outlook folder, I expect that they're synced in the same way as the email is. I'm assuming therefore that if my email is syncing properly, so are my text messages.

I had to perform a hard reset of my phone fairly recently (forgot my wallet password), and all my old texts came back afterwards.
