I can't remember which one I bought my wife's 820 from but it was one of those. Also they are advertised by WPC and Nokia both as a place to purchase unlocked phones. They are both trusted sites.

I just walked into Carphone Warehouse and asked for a "sim free" phone. Simple as that really. I don't think there's a need to look for specific technology shops online when most mobile phone shops will sell sim free devices.

I wasn't sure if the person asking the question was in the UK or not. They haven't answered that question.

Also, SIM free doesn't necessarily mean unlocked. I bought my L920 'SIM free' but it was locked to the EE network. I believe this is still going on.

www.verizonwireless.com. Every WP8 device they sell is unlocked, because part of their agreement with the FCC for the LTE band they use requires it. The applicable code can be found by searching 47 CFR Chapter 27.16.
