Since it says "this reduces battery life", I was wondering is it possible to make only part of the screen touch sensitive? Like, say "double tap to wake up" only works on the nav bar and not the whole screen, and that way, maybe you save some of the battery drain.

I doubt if that would be possible. I'll have to try this feature to see how it affects battery life, though. I do not have any battery issues with Black.

I've been using double tap to wake, and I haven't noticed any adverse effects on battery life.

Me neither. But it says so on the can..
Anyway, I did notice that double tap does not work on the nav bar area. It only works on the screen. So, maybe they have separate digitizers, which leads me to believe the nav bar digitizer might draw a bit less power.
