Anyone else who doesn't like the new way of connecting calls

The new way of calling just by touching the name in Phone app in Win Phone 8.1 is annoying. I've had multiple 'accidental' calls because of that. I don't like the fact that you gotta click on the small circle to open contact details and hold for call history. The old way was much better.

I don't like how it groups them together, I'd like to be able to see when all 3 calls occurred, not just the last one...am I missing how to see that?

I would like to see the call details, not immediately redial the number as well.

Tap and hold the call, select details. Brings up the details of that call, or all the calls in that grouping.

It is because you are accustomed to the "old" way. Just use it and after some days you will be accustomed to the new way.

Nah. I don't think so. I've never liked touching the number in contact details to dial the number which was present in Win Phone 8 but it could be ignored as I don't usually go into contact details. This thing in 8.1 won't be easy to ignore I'll have to take great care every time I open the Phone app. Also, when you go into the contact list by touching the third button at the bottom of the screen and you gotta scroll and if you are even a little careless you'll end up calling someone else.

I actually like it better. The most common reason why I am tapping a name in my call log is to place a call. The "old way" actually required an extra step for the most common action. The "new way" is more efficient.

I agree with you. I also find the new way more efficient.

I also like the speed dial feature, since it is more efficient than searching through the people list.

The old way let you tap the phone icon next to the person's name to call in a single tap. The new way isn't any more efficient and the new icons look terrible right aligned instead of left.

I never understood the old behavior, a year with my Lumia 920 and always ended opening the contact information instead calling back.

This is a feature that just takes getting used to.

You'll forget about the 'old way' soon. soon.

soon.

I dislike it. The old way had a clear indication of how to call in a single tap (circled dial icon to the left). Now you have a name...sometimes a name brings up contact info. If someone is migrating from WP8, it will be different behavior, as will be the phonebook. It will be different behavior than in the People hub as well. For me, I'm usually bringing up the profile to see call history with unknown numbers, and possibly do a search on them to see if they are a spammer (and then block them).

It just seems really frustrating when they could have added the call info/grouped calls to the existing dialer and had a nice little upgrade. I really don't know what is going with some of the UI/UX decisions lately.

i like the new way.
i am very lazy to tap tap and tap for calling .
just tap phone app and then speed dial tab opens, tap on any name and it calls.

I like it better now, previously I kept opening the contract details while I wanted to call the person. Now it's easy and logical.
