So, here's my dilemma. I have a Lumia 520. I'm looking to upgrade to something with a bigger screen. I'm in the US and not going to sign a contract. So, for me $300 max. The 630 should be out here soon, but I'm not impressed with it. Looking for 1GB of RAM and like physical buttons. I was thinking of getting an 820 from Amazon, Newegg or EBay for around $200. Should I do that or wait to what to see what other phones are coming out next month? My other thought was getting a Blackberry Z-10. Not looking to go Google or Apple. Thanks for your time.

I'd recommend Nokia Lumia 920, HTC Windows Phone 8X, or Samsung Ativ S
I'm sure it's just below $300 in Amazon, Newegg, or eBay (I'm not from the US, so I don't know... but it's quite likely)

I'm in the same boat, have a 520 looking to upgrade on my go phone plan, narrowed down to 920, 1320, and ativ s neo. Decisions, decisions, though I'm leaning toward the 920, just from the totality of excellent reviews. That big screen (1320) is mighty tempting though. <sigh>.

If you don't mind the heft, the 920 is great and can routinely be found below your $300 budget. If you can live with less storage you could get a 925, which is noticeably less bulky than the 920 (though deals are a little harder to come by). The 8X feels almost as svelte as the 520, but packs a punch and can be had for a steal these days. I've never seen the Ativ or 1320. It's a tough decision, but in the end I'd go with the 920 or 925.

Hey don't worry about the 512MB ram , read this great article posted today 5 reasons why the Lumia 630 is better than the Lumia 520 | Windows Phone Central Lumia 820 is an excellent device but it has pathetic battery life  where as this is the newest handset from nokia running the latest version of windows phone 8.1 bundled with nokia cyan firmware update.

From what I have been reading here, on ALMOST EVERY NEW GAME that hits.....Look and RUN from a 512mb device. Well, if your not a gamer and don't like the newest apps, maybe. It's not the best thing if you like the newest apps. Ms should of cut elsewhere instead of causing the fragmentation with these devices.

Also, if your looking to spend $300, take a look at some used phones, you would be shocked on the upgrade you can get on a used device (as long as mint device) for the price over a brand new device.

The 820 is a fine option, albeit in the shadow of its 920 sibling.

Battery life is meh, could be better definitely. On the plus side, batteries are swappable and potentially upgradeable.

The 920 is another option, maybe the 925, doubtful though.

Samsung's ATIV S and ATIV S Neo are worth a look, not sure how they price these days though.

HTC has an 8X, and thats about it.

Thanks everyone. My wife has a 920 and loves it, I do like the device. But, I'm not looking to buy anything that doesn't have an SD card slot or access to the battery, mainly on principal. That's why the 820 is so attractive to me. It's like Nokia is the only one NOT putting 1GB of ram on devices and when they do, not offering in the US. Our carrier system in extremely frustrating. I did see a 525 on Amazon for $149. Why not spend $50 for the 820? The 1350 is tempting but too big for me. I'll look into the Samsung and HTC products. I've been a Nokia ****** for years. But, they are gone I guess my loyalty should also. Thanks again.

I can deal with the low RAM. But, charging $200 for the 63X with those specs is unreasonable. I looked into the Moto G that has been mentioned on this board heavily. Specs per price that IS the better deal. But, I go flip phone before Google.
