I lost my password for my HTC 8S. It has the 8.1 dev preview, and the way to do a hard reset has apparently changed from WP 8. If anyone has any info on this or knows how to recover a password, it would really help. Thanks!

I'm sorry but are you trying to say that your phone was on 8.1 and after hard reset it's back to WP8?

    (Welcome Dr. Pepsi, PhD!)

The password can't be recovered, so a hard reset is in order.

Unfortunately, I cant remember the procedure via hardware keys.
    I will search a bit...

The most I could find was this:
    (text procedure in comments)

Not much on 8.1 specifically however. Huh.

He's saying its on 8.1, and it appears the hard key procedure for a hard reset has seemingly changed from 8.0.

Thanks for the info and help guys, but it still didn't work. I may try to get onto a Chat with a MS Representative and ask them if they know how. If not, I think the last resort is to wait till 8.1 is public. They'll probably have a sequence for it then

Are you able to erase the phone from find my phone? Or does that require the pin?
