Microsoft account sign-in error after updating to Cyan.

Two of my friends started complaining about Microsoft account not signing in after doing the lumia cyan update. They are using a lumia 1020(at&t) and a lumia 920. When my phone received the lumia cyan update i was perfectly able to sign-in to Microsoft on it. Any idea what is causing this issue on their devices?

Do you use two-factor authentication on your Microsoft account? If so, you will need to use an app password, generated from outlook.com under your account settings (I think - I can't look now because I'm at work and the proxy blocks outlook.com).

Nope from what i know they don't use 2 step verification on their phones.

Was your issue resolved? I just updated my 920 and 720 (both were running WP8.1 Update 1 DP) by flashing the phones, and both of them are having this issue. Tried disabling 2-factor authentication and text sync but no use. My 521 (running WP8) is syncing perfectly fine.

Yes I was able to sign in on 1020 after a reset. But resetting is not working with 920.
