How to put videos directly onto phone - from a Mac

I'm on a mac. I see an option in Windows Phone (the mac sync prog) to sync iTunes videos - that's not what I want.
I can drag a video into the sync app, and it appears in the Videos app on phone. But I've no idea where it's stored.

So, my questions are:
- Should I be using a dedicated video player app (for better management and playing mkv etc); if so which one do you guys rate?
- If I use the built-in app, where are my vids stored?

Your videos are stored at C:\Data\Users\Public\Videos. Since C:\Data\Users\Public is the root/home folder of your phone, it is Phone memory\Videos
