Hi everyone. As I noticed there are quite a number of Borderlands 2 players here, I thought it would not only be great to play together but also to share our characters, stats, tips and also to show off our unique gear and guns. We can also give away or trade our gear and guns that we do not use anymore. My favorite character class is siren and my current level is 40 going on 41. I prefer to use a Fox Mod on single play and a Nurse Mod for multiplayer. Current and preferred head is Nevermore and favorite skin is Indigo Lady. I've already maxed out on my Cataclysm (offensive) skill tree and now building up my Harmony (defensive) skill tree. My favorite guns at the moment is my Reactive Projectile Diversification Shotgun with a fantastic scope and debilitating slag effect and my Cowboy Scarab Rifle with a good scope, great accuracy, high damage and fast trigger.

That's a great topic for a gaming thread. I'm sure you'll get a lot of people who play this game.

Woo love me some Borderlands 2. I'm really enjoying the game as Krieg the Psyco. His ability is insanely OP. Love this video:

Haven't played in a while. Would love to play some with you, but I think time difference might be an issue.

I'm going to propose a tangent, but being that I've never played Borderlands 1 or 2 (heard plenty of each, and am a fairly active gamer, just have never explored either) any suggestions on whether I can just jump right into Borderlands 2 or should I get the first game? Additionally for PC or the 360?

I'd say it would be just fine to skip the first one. The stories are pretty much independent of each other. Some characters are in the second game so you might miss some references or lack some context when they say something that relates to events from the previous game. I personally prefer shooters on PC because of the controls, but if you're adept enough on controller then should be a non issue. If you're after the eye candy and some nice particle effects, then PC FTW.

Here's a tip for new players; Don't let the specs fool you, test all your guns. Some cheaper and lower level guns may actually be far better than what looks like an awesome gun but is actually not. There were times I sold a good gun when it seemed I had found a better one but I regretted the moment I pulled the trigger in battle. Compare the two of my shotguns below and the specs on the 1st one seemed to trump the 2nd one if you compare each spec individually. However Hunting Quad has a useless effect "Fire as fast as you can hold the trigger" when the magazine can only hold 5 bullets before you have to reload and it consumes 4 on each shot. Now even though Sinewy Hulk has a very low accuracy of 36.1, this is exactly what you want when you have the "Deals bonus explosive damage" effect so that the explosions are spread across a wider area hitting more baddies and can catch those hiding behind fixtures and shields.

While Hunting Quad was practically useless except for taking out basic baddies at short distance, Sinewy Hulk turned out to be a big badass gun!
Here's a video where I easily took out a shield bearing super badass nomad. Hiding behind that shield is not going to do jacksh*t against THE HULK !

I like those Torgue explosive shotguns best. They do insane damage, as well as having some splash damage. They work well against the guys with shields too. Same can be said of the Torgue assault rifles, the one that looks similar in the design of their shotguns. I forget the name (I think it's the Lance and the shotgun is the Ravager).

One thing I learned to look out for is that some guns have slightly longer reload times as well as (what seems to be) extended animations. I think some of the Bandit guns are the ones that do this.

On a side note, I hate how the sound effects ramp up in that area in the video you posted. So annoying when I forget to turn my volume down and the gunfire is so loud it makes me jump lol.

Hyperius the Invincible from the Pirates DLC is a pain in the *ss. The issue is not so much as he's impossible to kill just but that it just takes too long. I either run of out amno or my hands just get too tired of running around. Unlike other bosses, there's absolutely no amno drops around the arena to pick up. You have to keep running as it only takes two nova hits from him to take down your shield and kill you unless you're fully recharged before the next hit. You really need to have more than one player to take him down as indicated by the mission text. So anyone else who is ready to take on the mission, I'll be definitely eager to join. If you haven't met this boss yet, I'm going to post a video soon with some tips.

I haven't even done Terramorphous. I get frustrated when doing the raid bosses so I never really bothered to try again.

It was funny when I came across Hyperius the first time. I was wondering why he wasn't doing anything so I meleed him and he instantly killed me. Yeah I stayed away from him since.

Just finished Tiny Tina: Assault on Dragon Keep. It's a great DLC. However it's really more fun than challenging. I only really had one or two intense fights throughout the entire game. I like that when Tina changes the game rules from time to time or when you completed the game, the environment will follow accordingly. It is frustrating though failing time after time at what seems to be an impossible task only to find out that you've just being played out by Tina. I like some additions like sprite that you can catch which will then follow you giving you extra speed and protection. You can also get them and other bonuses by sacrifing Eridium at shrines. You can also swap Eridium for better equipment at certain chests throughout the game. There will be a "place" for you to do this whenever you want once have completed the game. However the DLC is too short and there is just not enough side quests that takes advantages of these great additions. It really begs for a DLC. But can a DLC get a DLC??

So, I know this is an old thread. However, because the Borderlands Humble Bundle was released today, I now have Borderlands 1 and 2 on Steam. If anyone wants to play with me or teach a noob how to enjoy this series, let me know!
