Hi folks, I just got the Blackjack(1) used and just transferred my SIM card fom another phone. Now I can make calls but was wondering if there is a way to browse the web without paying the extra $30 a month that ATT wants. Any thoughts?? I'm seeing '3G' at the top of the screen most of the time

IIRC, the Blackjack products do not have wifi. I don't know if they are compatible with microsd wifi cards, but there is no built in wifi.

Order a cheaper data plan on your non-smartphone and transfer the SIM. Just don't go overboard with data usage and NO tethering.

Thanks for the replies. I have decided to get rid of the Blackjack as it does not have wifi. This makes it useless to me. Why pay $40 extra a month?

Anyway, I found a used HTC 8525 for the same price. This phone is 3G as well, but I'm wondering if the 3G speeds apply to wifi useage????

cheers

3G speeds do not apply to WiFi - they only apply to cellular internet.

WiFi has its own speed ratings, depending on what version (A, B, G, N, etc). The vast majority of WiFi configurations are B or G.
