How can I get handling multiple buttons in Windows Phone 8 to work?

Handling Multiple Buttons in Windows Phone 8

I am not able to click on multiple buttons in Windows Phone8. I am developing an app where I have two buttons Forward and Backward. User should be able to click on both buttons at a time. Its just like a racing game where user will click on accelerator as well as Direction buttons. So please suggest how to proceed with this usecase.

What are you using to create your buttons? Are you just using base components or a framework?
