Ok, so I finally convinced myself that I waited long enough to upgrade to WM 10 2 days ago. Download took about 2 hours OTA without any problems whatsoever.
First impressions on my 830 are very positive; phone seems a bit faster, I like the additional features and so far the battery is holding up extremely well.
So all in all I'm glad I was patient and waited till most initial problems were ironed out.
