[10080] Cortana issues - Crashing

Hi all,

After upgrading today my Cortana is now called search (that might be normal), but more importantly, in setting it up I can get to the "what should I call you page" it crashes. Tried clean boot with the same result. Any thoughts?

Yea, the release notes for 10080 state that you need to set the default settings for your country or region BEFORE you install the update or cortana will break. Think you will need to do a hard reset to fix it.

I have did a hard reset with no luck, it still keep crashing.. I also can't install the speech packages, it just show a queued message.

I will be watching to see how this goes as I have a 1520.3 that came from somewhere in Latin America and I am using it in Canada with all the regional settings set to the US.

I would have expected that a hard reset would have sorted it all out.

Good luck. It's quite nice hearing her talk back to you now, although it's weirdly disappointing on the occasions when your question goes through to a Bing search instead of a direct audible answer. I'd be right at home on Discovery One.

Since the very first build I can't make Cortana work. Even with the settings to US etc, kinda frustrating, I she helps me with a lot of things =/

Hopefully this will be fixed in a future build.

Change your region and also your language from your country to USA and it wont crash anymore. It did the trick for me.
