I cracked my 1020's glass and unfortunately I need to replace the screen. I've done some research and it appears I can't replace just the glass; the whole LCD screen needs to be replaced even though it's still intact.
Has anyone repaired their screen themselves? If so, do you have any suggestions for where I should buy the screen? It looks like the screens on Amazon are about $140 but some reviews say the adhesive on the frame wasn't very strong.
Otherwise, I might just send mine to the Palco people. It would cost me about $30 more, but I'm guessing I'd be getting actual OEM parts with an oleophobic screen, etc... Has anyone used them before? My biggest concern is mainly the lead time.
I've done several screen repairs for myself and others with multiple phone models, so I'm not intimidated by doing it myself; I'm just not so confident in the quality of the replacement parts vs. just having Palco do it.
