10586.164 mobile internal testing
Microsoft is now testing yet another new cumulative update for Windows 10 Mobile, this time build 10586.164.
Build 10586.164 includes no notable changes at this point, unlike build .122 which introduced a noticeable fix for the swipe keyboard not working in certain Windows 10-specific apps. It’s likely that build 10586.164 will continue improving the migration process from Windows Phone 8.1 to Windows 10 Mobile, as the official rollout is set to begin sometime this month.
Many users were upset to see that Windows 10 Mobile did not launch on February 29, as rumoured by none other than Microsoft Mexico themselves. My contacts tell me February 29 was never planned as a launch date, and that sometime in March has always been more likely. As always, for those curious the full build string for this specific patch reads: 10586.164.th2_release.160229-1806
Microsoft has been flighting this new cumulative patch through its internal Windows Servicing rings since last week, but it only recently reached the internal Microsoft-wide ring, meaning if all goes well Insiders are next inline to receive the patch. The update should be pushed out to Insiders at some point this coming week via the Insider Release Preview Ring, and then out officially if a newer patch doesn’t come along first.
this might be a indication that the official release is near and msft is at it hard to fix the annoying issues
