10gb OF OTHER STORAGE!!!!

Microsoft ****ed it up once again. My Other Storage is now under OS (almost 4GB...) and also 700MB in Other Storage that cannot be deleted at all...

It's fixed in update 3 by being renamed to temporary files and they're able to be cleared through the settings.

who told you that ? On nokias we still have store check and guess what I show 9.9 GB of other! So... If you " heard" its been fix well ...it has not. And mine has been climbing. Believe me when its fixed we will all know about it!

I highly doubt you are using GDR3 like you claim you are, because GDR3 does not have "other storage". The new gdr3 temporary files cleaner also eliminates all temporary files.

Try this if you already have not:

1. Delete IE history
2. Delete WPCentral App history (if you have it installed)
3. Manually change date year on phone to 2014, go to phone storage under settings and then delete temporary files, it will take a minute or 2 to do that. Now check your other storage size again. Make sure to revert the date back to current.

um do you have a Nokia? If not I would understand what your trying to say but if you do look down past phone storage you will see the storage check app! Yes I am on gdr3 dev pre why would I lie if all im trying to do find a solution . Why would I make this up? I've posted a bunch of pics show on other post and no one can explain. On nokias never did they say they were removing the storage check app so go ahead and see for yourself

Then stop using nokia's outdated and now inaccurate storage check for GDR1 and look at the storage tool GDR3 gives you.

Go to settings, "phone storage", tap "phone", and you'll see where all your data falls in line.

Maybe other storage like cached for system,. So cannot deleted,. More higher spesification of WP, it maybe need more cache,. I have lumia 520 and i have 1gb of other storage,. And i have more than 100 apps.. And my lumia works good,.

Strange, your numbers don't add up. Something must be messed up. You could try
1. clearing internet explorer history
2. clearing recently used maps
3. using the GDR3 clear temporary storage

However you have an excess of 10GB free- this hardly seems like an urgent matter at all. It could be just leftover junk from your update to GDR2/GDR3 never properly cleared and you need to hard reset to fix it. With 10GB to spare, you may never actually *need* to hard reset, unless have 10GB of music you plan to fill it with.

oh they do add up... They add up to 10 GB of other storage! I know we hate to admit it but numbers don't lie ! I'm obviously on gdr3 and yes I have tried everything every one ,Ms,WP team has ask me to try so guess what guys?????? Other storage is still here! I mean think about it? Why would I make this up? I love my 920 but im getting robbed of 10gb for what? And with no real explanation or fix !

Might be one of your apps. Podcast Lounge app has this issue with taking all the Other storage space.

no, the new gdr3 storage tool does not account for his 10GB, so the numbers do not add up. Which is why I think it could be leftover junk from previous versions- if the new gdr3 tool isn't seeing it, it might not be a part of how gdr3 handles storage at all.
